It has been identified that poverty is a major issue around Glasgow and Scotland, however those in need of help are not being heard. Organisations such as The Poverty Alliance Scotland are working to help those affected by poverty and, as artists, we can help to spread their message. 

This work takes the form of an installation piece, consisting of a high end furniture campaign featuring posters, a luxury brochure and a newspaper review. It challenges the idea of ‘Hostile Architecture’ and how it is placed around the UK. 

By using Adobe Photoshop, the furniture was created with a strong influence in mind: Homeless Deterrents. By combining this with the strong visual inspiration from Chesterfield Sofas, the work creates a major juxtaposition between the comforts of luxurious living and the harsh reality of sleeping rough and by doing so aims to create further awareness of this increasingly pressing issue.
